How Credits Work
Credits power your Creonix experience. Learn how they work and how to use them!
What Are Credits?
- Credits are the currency for processing YouTube videos and creating short clips in Creonix.
- Each minute of video processed costs 1 credit (rounded up).
Credit Types & Usage
Creonix uses two types of credits: Free Credits and Paid Credits. They are managed in separate "buckets" and used in a specific order.
-
Free Credits:
- New users receive free credits upon registration: 100 credits, or 150 credits if registered via an Affiliate Program referral. These free credits are a one-time bonus and do not renew.
- Free credits are used first. However, once a user activates a paid subscription plan, they will begin using paid credits.
- While on a paid plan, users will not see their free credit balance.
- If a paid subscription is not renewed, users can then utilize any remaining free credits that were unspent before the activation of their paid plan.
-
Paid Credits:
- Paid credits are obtained through purchasing a subscription plan (Basic or Pro) or by buying additional credit packs.
- Paid credits offer expanded functionality, including the absence of Creonix branding on processed videos.
- Pro plan users can also utilize advanced features like Video Hooks.
- Paid credits associated with a subscription plan may have an expiration date tied to your subscription period.
- Processing Cost: When you submit a video, its length determines the credits deducted from your balance (1 credit per minute, rounded up).
Managing Your Credits
- Add Credits: Go to the "Subscription" or "Add More Credits" section in the app menu to purchase additional credits or upgrade your plan. For more details, see our Subscription Plans guide.
- Check Balance: View your current credit balance (both free and paid) and plan details in your dashboard under "My Account" or the ShortsMaker interface.
